Gaza, 20 ottobre 2025 – Il King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) ha inaugurato oggi la prima fase del suo progetto per l’installazione di impianti di desalinizzazione nella Striscia di Gaza. Alla cerimonia hanno partecipato rappresentanti dell’Agenzia delle Nazioni Unite per il soccorso e l’occupazione dei rifugiati palestinesi (UNRWA), del Programma delle Nazioni Unite per lo Sviluppo (UNDP), dell’Ufficio delle Nazioni Unite per il coordinamento degli affari umanitari (OCHA) e del Fondo delle Nazioni Unite per l’infanzia (UNICEF).
Come parte dell’iniziativa, il Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, partner esecutivo di KSrelief nella Striscia di Gaza, supervisiona la ricezione e l’installazione delle unità di desalinizzazione nei punti chiave del territorio. Il progetto mira a fornire accesso ad acqua pulita e sicura a circa 300.000 persone nei governatorati di Khan Yunis e centrali.
I rappresentanti delle organizzazioni ONU e internazionali attive a Gaza hanno elogiato il progetto per il suo impatto umanitario, sottolineando il contributo al rafforzamento delle infrastrutture idriche e igienico-sanitarie e al miglioramento della qualità della vita dei residenti.
I beneficiari hanno espresso profonda gratitudine al Custode delle Due Sacre Moschee, Re Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, e a Sua Altezza Reale il Principe Mohammed bin Salman, Principe Ereditario e Primo Ministro, per il continuo sostegno umanitario, evidenziando l’importanza del progetto per garantire acqua potabile per l’uso quotidiano.

Humanitarian Aid: KSrelief Inaugurates Desalination Plants in Gaza for 300,000 People
The first phase of the project aims to ensure safe drinking water through collaboration with the United Nations.
Gaza, October 20, 2025 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) today inaugurated the first phase of its project to install desalination plants in the Gaza Strip. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
As part of the initiative, the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, KSrelief’s implementing partner in the Gaza Strip, is overseeing the receipt and installation of desalination units at key locations across the territory. The project aims to provide access to clean and safe water for approximately 300,000 people in Khan Yunis and the central governorates.
Representatives of the UN and international organizations active in Gaza praised the project for its humanitarian impact, highlighting its contribution to strengthening water and sanitation infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
Beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continuous humanitarian support, emphasizing the importance of the project in providing potable water for daily use.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts through KSrelief to support the Palestinian people and alleviate the difficult living conditions in the Gaza Strip.
