Venezia, 18 ottobre 2025 – Il festival saudita Noor Riyadh, tra i più grandi eventi internazionali dedicati alla light art, approda a Venezia con la mostra “In the Blink of an Eye”, ospitata presso la Fondazione Querini Stampalia dal 19 ottobre al 23 novembre 2025.
Curata da Mami Kataoka con la collaborazione di Sarah Al-Mutlaq e Li Zhenhua, l’esposizione offre un’anteprima del festival Noor Riyadh 2025 (20 novembre – 6 dicembre) ed esplora, attraverso la luce, i temi della trasformazione, dell’esperienza umana e del dialogo culturale.
Quattro artisti internazionali presentano opere che intrecciano innovazione, architettura e identità culturale:
• Kim Eung-won con il Riyadh Metro Project, simbolo del connubio tra arte e urbanistica;
• Wang Yuyang, che interpreta la crescita tecnologica e luminosa di Riyadh;
• Abdulrahman Al Shahed, autore di un’opera calligrafica che unisce simbolicamente Riyadh e Venezia;
• un omaggio speciale è dedicato a Safeya Binzagr (1940–2024), pioniera dell’arte moderna saudita.
Allestita negli spazi progettati da Carlo Scarpa, la mostra crea un dialogo visivo tra il classicismo veneziano e la contemporaneità saudita, riflettendo la rapida evoluzione culturale della capitale del Regno come nuovo centro internazionale per le arti.
Noor Riyadh è un festival annuale internazionale dedicato all’arte della luce e parte integrante del Riyadh Art Program, iniziativa che mira a promuovere la presenza globale dell’arte saudita e a sostenere gli obiettivi della Saudi Vision 2030, riconoscendo cultura e creatività come motori di sviluppo urbano e crescita economica.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia presents in Venice the exhibition “In the Blink of an Eye”, a preview of Noor Riyadh 2025, the international festival of light art that reflects Riyadh’s cultural and creative vision in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Venice, October 18, 2025 – The Saudi festival Noor Riyadh, one of the world’s largest events dedicated to light art, arrives in Venice with the exhibition “In the Blink of an Eye”, hosted at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia from October 19 to November 23, 2025.
Curated by Mami Kataoka in collaboration with Sarah Al-Mutlaq and Li Zhenhua, the exhibition offers a preview of Noor Riyadh 2025 (November 20 – December 6) and explores, through light, the themes of transformation, human experience, and cultural dialogue.
Four international artists present works that intertwine innovation, architecture, and cultural identity:
• Kim Eung-won, with the Riyadh Metro Project, symbolizing the fusion of art and urban design;
• Wang Yuyang, who interprets Riyadh’s technological and luminous growth;
• Abdulrahman Al Shahed, with a calligraphic work symbolically linking Riyadh and Venice;
• a special tribute is dedicated to Safeya Binzagr (1940–2024), a pioneer of modern Saudi art.
Installed within the spaces designed by Carlo Scarpa, the exhibition creates a visual dialogue between Venetian classicism and Saudi contemporaneity, reflecting Riyadh’s rapid cultural evolution as a new international center for the arts.
Noor Riyadh is an annual international festival dedicated to the art of light and forms part of the Riyadh Art Program, an initiative that aims to promote the global presence of Saudi art and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which recognizes culture and creativity as key drivers of urban development and economic growth.
